STOUT

Tasting Notes

Stouts began as more robust brothers to porters – dark beers drunk by the workers employed at the docks and markets of London. Milk stouts were simply ‘fortified’ with milk to bolster the energy of the workers. And so these beers evolved, changing according to regional taste and preference. “Stout” – our simple name for this complex beer. It’s broodingly dark side comes from the exotic dark roast and chocolate malts. Coffee and cocoa are seduced by the subtle milky lactose and a generous grist of oats. Finally, we touch it gently with vanilla to complete the symphony of textures and flavours. Quickly gaining cult status.
